Hello BSTC Members!
Welcome back seasoned BSTC members and welcome to all of our new members! I am happy to report that despite Lifetime Fitness opening, we are at full membership! We have saved The Goondocks from Troy’s father!
I’m sure everyone has noticed the $120 capital assessment fee added to your membership cost. Last year, in an effort to improve the quality of our physical space, a side by side comparison of similar country clubs across Middlesex County was performed by one of our corporate board members. BSTC was, by far, the least expensive swim and tennis club in the area. We looked at all of the amenities and fees these clubs had and decided that the best mutually discernible advantage for the business and our members would come in the form of a capital assessment fee. The board is only allowed to use the monies accrued from the fees to reinvest in the amenities and infrastructure of the club. We cannot buy miscellaneous products or use the money to pay for anything but capital improvements.
Last year, through the extremely diligent work of board members of past, we were able to hire a manager, resurface the big and small pools, install state of the art filtration systems for the pools, and replaced the clubhouse roof.
This year, through the capital assessment fee, we have resurfaced court one, purchased a new lane line holder, are installing new swim blocks, and purchased a new online registration system that will make signing up for pretty much everything easier.
As a corporate board we also voted to add 5 additional full time memberships. With this money, we have been able to provide a third lifeguard in rotation during the busiest times at the pool, add an extra day of operation (Fridays) to our preseason, and hire an experienced tennis pro that will benefit all of our children and adult members.
The board has worked so hard to bring all of this to you this past year. With that being said, please remember that we are volunteers. We are not paid for all of the time and effort we put into the improvement and day-to-day functions of the club. Christopher Ikier will be returning as club manager this year! If you have questions or concerns regarding the club please contact Chris or email us at email@example.com. Please try to let our board members who have also paid membership fees enjoy their families while they are at the club.
I love BSTC and the old fashioned childhood experiences it affords all of our children and families. No technology. Just imaginative fun and time spent creating memories that really do last a lifetime.
Without our members we would not exist. The corporate board would like to thank you all for your loyalty and look forward to having an amazing summer with you all.
Fondly, Nicole Spano-Niedermeier
