General Club Information
BSTC is open only on weekends starting the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Opening weekend hours will be Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 12-8pm. Weekends after this will have the hours of: Fridays open from 4-8pm, Saturdays and Sundays 12-8pm. We will open weekdays starting the last day of school for Burlington Public Schools.
During opening weekend, there will be a board member/staff member at the check-in table giving out wristbands. If you don’t make it to the Club opening weekend, they will continue to be available at the check-in table. The current board includes President Julie Kim, Secretary Kim Solomon, Treasurer Tara Small, Julie Cullen, Kim Tolpa, Rosie Smith, Craig Foster, Samantha Levine, and CJ Valle.
Our full hours of operation will be 8:15am-8pm, but this changes as we lose sunlight in August. During peak season the weekday schedule will be: 8:15-9:45am swim team practice, 10-12pm swim lessons, 12-8pm open swim. The kiddie pool is usually open 10-8 daily.
Since we know everyone is excited to spend as much time at the Club as possible, we encourage members to take advantage of all aspects of the Club. This includes tennis, tetherball, four square, the basketball hoop, cornhole, and anything else you could bring from home. We invite members to plan events as well, as long as they are coordinated with the board to avoid conflicts and advertise on our weekly calendar!
Volunteering
Each family is expected to contribute towards running the club by volunteering their time for at least 5 hours per season. There are many opportunities to volunteer including swim team timing, planning or helping out with an event, helping with opening tasks pre-season, working the sign-in desk, packing the club up for winter on Labor Day, and many more! After you volunteer, please complete the form to log your hours. There is also an option to buy out of this requirement for $250, available from the payments tab of your member page.
Swim
Swim team runs for 6 weeks. The registration fee is $100/swimmer for members, and $250 for the first non-member swimmer, followed by $100 for each additional non-member swimmer in the same family/household. Tennis team will have weekly practices on Tuesdays from 3-4:30pm, starting in June . Matches will be on Wednesdays, but more information will be forthcoming.
Summer tennis lessons will run for 8 weeks. Registration will open in early June. Non-members are able to register at a higher rate for tennis clinics, but only after our members have had a week to register.
Events
We usually start off the season with a BSTC Luau to celebrate the last day of school, host Friday night tennis socials, trivia night, a club movie night/campout, ice cream socials, and family day. If you are interested in organizing or running an event, please reach out to the board.
Snack Shack
The Snack Shack will be selling pre-packaged food, drinks, snack and, of course, Richie’s Slush. We accept cash, credit cards, and Venmo.
Two propane grills are available for member use; please let the manager on duty know if propane needs to be refilled.
Additional food/grill items may be sold for special events.
Guests
Individual ($15) and ten pack ($100) guest passes are available through your member account (under the payments tab).
Guests older than three years old are $15/person, to be paid or deducted from your previously purchased passes upon arrival at the check-in desk.
Each member account is for a single household. Grandparents/nannies/babysitters living elsewhere are included in a membership when they attend BSTC as the primary caregiver for member children. If caregivers are attending WITH the adult members, they are required to pay the guest fee. Please add caregiver names to your member account before the season begins.
The minimum age to attend BSTC without a parent or adult supervisor present is 13 years old. Managers and board members reserve the right to revoke this privilege if individuals are not following club policies (ex: being destructive to property, disrespecting other members, acting dangerously to themselves or others).
Babysitters must be at least 16 to bring children to the pool.
